Compensation is more than a pay-check, and traditional approaches don’t adequately reflect it or the way people work today.
We’re on a mission to change that. We see compensation as everything a company gives their people in return for the work they do. It should be easier to understand, offer, manage and spend.
Long-term, we’re working towards becoming the place where compensation happens and is managed by those who award and receive it. We’re on our way to coining the term “Compensation-as-a-service”.
We’re proud to be backed by leading European VC funds, having raised over €20 million.

The Financial Times has been a trusted source of news since 1888, with a significant online presence that reached a milestone last April - one million paying readers. To keep up with this growth and improve performance, they switched from
traditional microservices to a GraphQL API built on Elixir. This change has had a positive impact, with another Elixir-based app also in their portfolio and a notable reduction in memory usage compared to Java. The team at Financial Times
found Elixir easy to learn and adopt, citing Ellis Pritchard's endorsement as an added advantage of the language.
The Elixir programming language and its framework, Phoenix, offer a comprehensive set of tools for building web applications. Elixir's clean standard library, modern features like protocols, streams, and agents, and built-in support for
date/time, calendar, and math operations make it easy to write performant code. The Phoenix framework provides advanced routing, plug-able steps, and secure cookie sessions, along with internationalization tooling. Its LiveView feature
allows developers to build server-rendered live UI components using Elixir's native syntax, eliminating the need for JavaScript or other languages. With a vast ecosystem of libraries available for tasks like machine learning, data
processing, and embedded systems, and powered by Fly.io's scalable infrastructure that supports instant deployments, hardware isolation, and private networking, the combination of Elixir, Phoenix, and Fly.io provides an incredibly powerful
toolset for building web applications efficiently and effectively.

Haven is building the future of migraine care for the 40 million Americans who suffer from this debilitating neurological condition. Backed by Precursor Ventures and 1843 Capital, we're transforming how migraine is treated through an innovative combination of telemedicine, AI-enabled monitoring, and personalized care plans. Our early results are exceptional - our initial patient cohort is seeing a 70% improvement rate with days impacted by headache reduced by half.
We've built our platform using Elixir, Phoenix and LiveView on AWS, with infrastructure as code managed through Terraform and CI/CD via Github Actions. We leverage Postgres for a variety of purposes. Our philosophy emphasizes simplicity and pragmatism. While our immediate focus is on scaling our core platform, we have ambitious plans to leverage AI for patient care optimization, clinical decision support, and automated care routing. The codebase is only a year old, so there's a lot to build but that also means there's not much cruft or legacy code.

The Problem – Friction in Healthcare
Healthcare is segmented into distinct silos across Providers, Payors, Patients, and Partners. The silos cause friction across the different stakeholders, resulting in increased costs and reduced accessibility for Patients, and significant lost opportunity for revenue for Providers, Payors, and Partners. There is an incredible untapped opportunity in healthcare to connect these silos.
The Solution – The Intelibly Ecosystem
The Intelibly Platform improves healthcare access by removing friction through connecting healthcare silos into a single ecosystem. Intelibly is making an impact into multi-billion dollar enterprise healthcare companies through creating premium lift, reducing claim costs, and keeping patients in-network to both increase revenues and decrease costs.
Intelibly’s Mission is to become the Central Hub connecting Payors and Providers for the benefit of Patients gaining easy access to Healthcare and to be the Source of Truth for Provider relationships, Patient Scheduling Data, and Payor Member and Network Attribution.

Pinterest has been leveraging the Elixir programming language to enhance efficiency and scalability in various parts of their system. The company's adoption of Elixir has led to significant improvements in its notification system, allowing
for faster and more reliable communication between users. Additionally, Elixir has simplified and improved Pinterest's rate-limiting system, reducing complexity and overhead associated with it. This has resulted in improved performance and
scalability, enabling the platform to better manage traffic spikes and remain responsive even under heavy load. Overall, the use of Elixir has allowed Pinterest to improve the efficiency and scalability of its systems, leading to a better
user experience and ensuring that the platform remains reliable and responsive even under increased demands.
We are passionate about developer tooling and have chosen Elixir + Phoenix as their tech stack for Plausible. Elixir is a fantastic language with careful attention to details, built on top of the mature Erlang VM since 1986. It's proven
technology that they can rely on, but might not be the best choice for high-performance data processing if Plausible experiences significant traffic. We have also chosen PostgreSQL as their default persistence engine, due to its maturity
and battle-tested reliability. However, we might need to switch to InfluxDB or use Timescale extension of Postgres if Plausible's analytics requirements become too demanding.
Additionally, we have adopted Tailwind CSS for writing HTML+CSS, which has taken some time to get used to but seems like a great approach for achieving better-looking designs with less effort. For client-side interactivity, we are
using server-rendered HTML and sprinkling vanilla JavaScript, which keeps things simple and fast. The website also integrates with several external tools, including Heroku, Sentry, Mailgun, and Cloudflare.
Elixir's performance is significantly boosted when handling large datasets and complex queries. The Elixir-based API serves core rankings datasets at an impressive speed, with average response times under 50 ms. This is made possible by
keeping the campaign's dataset completely in memory, indexed, and ready to query using Erlang marshal format. Additionally, Elixir provides a robust and reliable framework for distributed systems, optimized for parallel computation. Its
flexible and low-cost code management capabilities make it an attractive choice for large-scale applications. In the context of Moz, the use of Elixir improved the application's performance by reducing build times to just 10 minutes, down
from several hours. This enabled developers to iterate faster on new features and ideas, leading to a more efficient and productive development process overall.
