A passionate and detail-oriented builder

I’ve been a tinkerer my whole life. I’ve broken more appliances than I care to mention because I had to understand how things work. I still do. If I can fix things today that’s because I broke them in the past. I’ve learned the value of clean code because I suffered trying to change stubborn code. I’ve also learned the value of simple code because I suffered jumping through 10 files and 20 abstractions that didn’t need to exist. I guess that’s why I love functional programming and Elixir. It’s simple. As simple as it should be but not simpler. I take my craft very seriously but to me it’s play. And yes I see the paradox. My latest project is benchbrawl.com. A peer to peer sports gaming platform built entirely on Elixir + LiveView (and Oban and distributed Cachex and libcluster and Kafka and all the usual goodies).
