Staff and Principal level software engineer and systems architect specializing in Elixir, Erlang, and highly scalable distributed systems, with nearly three decades of experience across web applications, enterprise systems, and platform engineering. For the past eight years I have built and owned much of a football-analytics platform: a suite of services organized around a central data warehouse that powers both a public B2B data-API business and Ultimate, PFF’s flagship reporting and analytics application used by thousands of coaches, scouts, analysts, and media partners.
On the BEAM, I reach for OTP, Broadway, GenStage, and Flow for concurrency and backpressure, Phoenix and Ecto on Postgres for the application layer, and the streaming, caching, and observability foundations that keep large systems fast and stable under load. I have founded greenfield services, designed the frameworks and shared libraries that other engineers build on, and led an engineering team without stepping away from hands-on architecture.
I care about clean design, well-tested code, and sharing what I learn. I have spoken at ElixirConf, LambdaConf, and CodeMash, and I maintain several open-source Elixir libraries that run in production across the platform I helped build.
