I’ve worked in startups and bigger companies covering a wide variety of roles, from front-end React engineer to background job processing framework developer to supporting our home-rolled Kubernetes on EC2 (before EKS was released). I’m comfortable picking up technology on the job as needs require, and in fact prefer it when learning new things.
Primarily, my professional language experience is in Ruby and Ruby on Rails. I’ve led projects introducing access controls to large, central models as well as Rails upgrades across a company. I’m willing to take measured risks on approaches and am more than willing to roll those back when an experiment fails. I have a passion for learning from incidents, and even spent some time at Shopify as an Incident Manager on Call (IMOC), coordinating during incidents and with followups after.
