Having worked exclusively with Elixir over the past 4 years, I bring over 10+ years of engineering experience in fast-paced environments that thrive on iterative development. My career has been driven by a passion for innovation, scalability, and the strategic execution of a company’s product vision. I am passionate about building robust, scalable systems and fostering a an environment where engineers and non-engineers collabroate seamlessly.
While I am currently working with Elixir, I am a quick learner. If your dev environment uses a variety of languages and tools, I am comfortable learning and working with them per your needs. In the past, I have worked with Java, Python, Go, Ruby (on Rails), JavaScript, GraphQL, Redis, and more.
What sets me apart is my extensive experience in leading and mentoring globally distributed teams for over five years, fostering autonomy and delivering high-impact products. In my recent roles at Remote Inc. as an Engineering Team Lead, I’ve specialized in the Elixir ecosystem:
- I led a team that successfully launched a new performance management product on time through strategic prioritization. A key feature involved leveraging Generative AI to improve the quality of performance reviews, which increased user participation to over 80%.
- I established and led an accounting integrations team, delivering integrations with platforms like Xero and QuickBooks that onboarded over 150 customers and generated more than $3 million in opportunities within nine months.
- I led the discovery and implementation of Remote’s Public API, a project that directly resulted in a multi-million dollar partnership with Gusto.
Beyond Elixir, I’m experienced with PostgreSQL, including advanced features like Row-Level Security (RLS) to protect sensitive PII and PostGIS for geospatial data. In Elixir, I’ve built websites with Phoenix and LiveView, presence with GenServers, and more. My architectural experience includes establishing domain boundaries within monolithic backends, as well as migrating monolithic backends to services.
