I love functional programming and have worked in Clojure and Haskell for 5 years out of my 8 years of industry experience. I have worked as a backend engineer till now but want to make webapps in my free time using Phoenix. Hence, the switch to Elixir. The pragmatism of Elixir and Phoenix towards making real-world apps is a huge bonus. I have learnt Elixir and Phoenix and made a couple of small projects using them. I want to work at a place where I can get meaningful work and can help the company grow. Things that make me a good developer:
- Product focused developer.
- Solid functional programming practices.
- Can translate abstract feature requirements to well-defined coding tasks.
- Good and transparent planning and management of my work.
- Good experience working in fully-remote setup.
- Great ownership and communication(both verbal and written) skills.
- I have worked in companies of all sizes - small, mid, and large.
- Managed and mentored teams while actively developing.
