🌍 Impact-Driven Work:
Enhancing Electoral Transparency with TallyHo: an open-source election tallying system developed in partnership with UNDP. Used in the December 2024 Libyan elections, this system improved transparency, trust, and efficiency in the electoral process. Beyond leading the technical development and infrastructure planning, I also: ✔ Onboarded and trained electoral officials in Libya and Tunisia, ensuring they could effectively use the system. ✔Provided on-site support during the elections ensuring a smooth process. ✔ Worked closely with international stakeholders, including UNDP, electoral bodies to ensure seamless collaboration under high-pressure conditions.
This experience reinforced my belief that technology can strengthen democratic institutions and public trust in governance.
I Led the Development of Akuko: a BI platform that helps orgs transform data into actionable insights. This has been used by organizations like UNICEF and WHO to fight polio in Africa and support their Covid-19 response. ✔ Deployed ClickHouse on K8’s, making big data analytics faster and more cost-efficient. ✔ Built a Cube.js API semantic layer, enabling businesses to seamlessly integrate their analytics workflows. ✔ Automated data ingestion workflows using Temporal Orchestrator, improving efficiency for data analysts.
