Working as a professional Ruby dev nine years ago, I discovered Elixir, fell in love, and have worked only at Elixir companies since.
I run/maintain a 12-server (all Linux) Kubernetes cluster and enjoy working with code, servers, databases, and networking.
I love building useful things, grappling with challenging technical and business problems, collaborating with devs, designers, DBAs, etc., and trying to anticipate and avoid problems by brainstorming and evaluating technical options before jumping straight to code.
Shipping customer value energizes me. (I dislike bureaucracy and bikeshedding, which waste devs’ time while not benefiting customers).
I’m currently working hard on my long-term nights-and-weekends side project, which has encouraged me to learn many new skills over the years. (It involves multiple Elixir repos, Javascript/Typescript/RxJS/browser extensions, and Kubernetes.) But I love working on a team to build useful products/services and would be happy for my side project to become just that again.
